SAULO FERNANDES SINGS WITH BANDA TERRÁQUEA - LIVE FROM TEATRO DA CIDADE

Lon Bové and the Banda Terráquea will perform on August 29th, at 8PM, the R & B concert “Água Vida Pura Vida”, in Teatro da Cidade, Avenida Paralela, Salvador. The show will feature the singer Saulo Fernandes, the Olodum Juvenil and the choral Atitude Ver de Perto, composed by students of Pinto de Aguiar State School – together, they will sing the event’s anthem, the song “Água Vida Minha Vida”, that talks about the importance of taking care of our planet and our waters.

Idealized by Banda Terráquea, along the group leader, the singer, songwriter, guitarist and master in education Lon Bové, 9 times Grammy nominated for his album “M.O.T.H”, this project is composed by two actions:

First, the formation of a choir group to sing the project’s anthem “Água Vida, Minha Vida”, with the objective of summoning Brazil’s students to the song that discusses the importance of caring for our waters.

The second step consists of the analysis, by the students, of the impact the usage of plastic bags has on our planet, our oceans and sanitary landfills, integrating the multidisciplinary matter in maths, geography, arts and sciences.

In this proposal, the Banda Terráquea will organize the retrieval of used t-shirts in school and, with the help of seamstresses, transform them into ecobags – reaching the goal of 5.000 pieces.

The main intention is to point out how the students are vectors of change, bringing the topic to their families and communities. On the concert date, those who bring to the theater their used t-shirts will get, in return, an eco bag at the door.

Led (lead?) by the North American Lon Bové, receiver of 9 Grammy nominations for his album “M.O.T.H ‘’”, the Banda Terráquea mixes classic Rhythm & Blues with Brazilian musicality. The group’s name alludes to the fact that we’re all siblings, sharing the same home: Earth. The band’s musicians are the percussionist Ivanzinho Pacapuco, the harmonica player Luiz Rocha, the bass player Vitor Magalhães, the vocalists Cacá Magalhães and Gabriel Bové, the drummer Jair Rocha, including João Teoria and the group Skanibais for the Terráquea Horns.
